How it all started...
The Methodist faith has been present since the formation of the City of Warrensburg, in fact, it was the first church to be established in Johnson County. Over the years, the congregation experienced controversies about social justice issues, which led to the formation of other Methodist churches in town over the past 175 years. We are one unified Methodist church here in Warrensburg and the building at 141 East Gay Street has been a part of the community for over a century. The church has continued to remain focused on being a community focused congregation that desires for all to know the love of Jesus .
"Living so that all may know Jesus."
"Living so that all may know Jesus."

Expanding the vision...
We value every opportunity to share the love of Jesus with others. Sharing the love of Christ with others includes being involved out in the community, as well as using the unique resources that we have to invite others to the life of the church that takes place at 141 East Gay Street. In addition to church sponsored events, Umcburg is proud to host several chapters of AA, Al Anon, Overeaters Anonymous, Boy Scout Troop 500, Cub Scout Troup 499, Girl Scout Troop, the Inspired Quilters, and a city poling site, among others.
Where we are headed...
NEW: Breakfast Church, Communion with the people!
We continue to seek to find new ways to partner with the Warrensburg community and do all the good we can. Sunday, April 27th, we are piloting a FIVE-WEEK initiative called Breakfast Church. It will be held from 8:30 am to 9:00 am on Sunday mornings. We will begin by sharing Holy Communion with one another and then eat breakfast around the table with one another and get to know others. Everyone is invited to come for breakfast!
Be a part of our story...
Join us every Sunday as we gather to worship together a 9:30 am and 11 am.
