The battle of Lone Jack’s history is UMCburg’s history. Recent research has revealed that both the commanders of North and South at Lone Jack were members of our congregation, and the Church played a pivotal role in one of the bloodiest Civil War battles in Missouri.
To celebrate the important contributions of our church, the Lone Jack Historical Society has created a special exhibit, which will be unveiled to our congregation in a private tour and picnic at the Lone Jack battlefield and museum on October 1.
Transportation to and from from UMCburg is available. If you wish to use Church transportation, please meet at the Church by 10:00 a.m. and plan to return to the Church by 2:00 p.m.
If you wish to drive yourself, meet at the museum by 10:30 a.m. and plan to leave by 1:30 p.m.
